Sizing Guide for Woven Wraps

Welcome to Little Zen One!

First, check out our interactive woven wrap size chooser here.

Choosing Your Woven Wrap Size

When choosing the size for a woven wrap, consider these three factors:

  1. Your body size - The size of the person using the wrap
  2. Desired carries - The carries you would like to do
  3. Child's size - The size of your child(ren) being wrapped

Typically, the first wrap people get is their base size. The base size is the size you can do the most carries with!

If you're US shirt size 0-8, choose a Size 5 base. If you're larger than size 26, choose a Size 8.

What is a Base Size?

A "base size" is determined by the shortest length of wrap you need to do a Front Wrap Cross Carry (FWCC). This size allows you to perform many full-length carries. While every body is different, most find their base size to be between 5 and 7. Your child's size won't significantly affect your base size.

Women's Base Size Guide

  • US shirt size 0 - 8 → Size 5 wrap
  • US shirt size 8 - 12 → Size 6 wrap
  • US shirt size 14 - 20 → Size 7 wrap
  • US shirt size 22 - 26 → Size 8 wrap
Quick Tip: If you're between sizes, consider going up a size for more versatility, or down a size if you prefer less fabric to manage.

3 3.2 126.0 10.5
4 3.7 145.7 12.1
5 4.2 165.4 13.8
6 4.7 185.0 15.4
7 5.2 204.7 17.1
8 5.7 224.4 18.7

Finding Your "Shorty" Size

Once you've determined your base size, you can find your "shorty" size wrap by subtracting two sizes. For example, if your base size is 6, a size 4 will usually work well for a Ruck carry tied in front.

Understanding Wrap Dimensions

Sizes can vary due to the unique nature of woven material:

  • Size 2 = 2.7m
  • Size 3 = 3.2m
  • Size 4 = 3.7m
  • Size 5 = 4.2m
  • Size 6 = 4.7m
  • Size 7 = 5.2m
  • Size 8 = 5.7m

The width of woven wraps typically varies between 26" - 28" (66 - 71 cm). Wide wraps are better for toddlers, while narrow wraps work well for infants. However, preferences vary, and you might find narrow wraps suitable for toddlers as well.

How to Measure Your Wrap

If you'd like to measure your wrap, use a soft tape and measure along one rail. Follow this video tutorial for detailed instructions.

Woven wraps are measured along one rail, which refers to the long edge of the wrap. Machine-woven wraps like Didymos typically have tapered ends for a trimmer knot and easier tie-off. Over time, you'll discover your preferences, such as the length of tails or different finishes for tying off.
