What's the Difference between LennyLamb LennyUpgrade and LennyUpgrade PRO?
LennyUpGrade vs. LennyUpGrade PRO
The same beloved carrier — now from birth. The LennyUpGrade PRO builds on the original with true newborn fit, a wider adjustment range, and a more flexible strap system. If you're starting from day one, choose PRO.
If you're starting later, both are excellent. Both are adjustable, ergonomic soft-structured carriers made by LennyLamb in Poland — but the PRO adds newborn readiness, a removable chest belt, and a wider panel range. Here's everything you need to know.

What's Actually Different
Panel Height Range: The Newborn Difference
This is the most meaningful practical difference. The PRO panel adjusts from 10.2"–16.1" (26–41 cm). The original adjusts from 13.4"–15.7" (34–40 cm). That 3.2" (8 cm) lower minimum is what makes the PRO work for newborns from birth — the panel can compress small enough to properly support a tiny baby's seat and back. The original simply can't go low enough for safe newborn use.
Chest Belt: Integrated vs. Removable
Both carriers have a chest belt — but they work differently. The LennyUpGrade has an integrated chest belt built into the shoulder straps. The PRO comes with a separate, removable chest belt that clips onto the shoulder straps and can be taken off entirely when wearing straps crossed. The PRO's design is more flexible for sharing between two wearers with different preferences.
PRO: Structured Newborn Panel Section
The PRO has a distinct 8.3" × 8.3" (21 × 21 cm) padded upper section designed specifically for newborn head and neck support. The original uses an adjustable width at the neck (8.3"–10.6" / 21–27 cm) that works well for older babies but isn't built for the earliest weeks.
Both Have Lumbar Support
Worth clarifying: both carriers include lumbar support as part of the waistband. This is built into the LennyUpGrade's wide, padded waistband and carried over into the PRO. Neither requires a separate lumbar pad purchase.
NFC Smart Label — Both Carriers
Both the LennyUpGrade and PRO include a Circoola® NFC chip sewn into the carrier. Tap with a smartphone to access the manual, care instructions, video tutorials, and carrier details — model, production date, serial number, fabric composition. Especially useful if you share the carrier or buy secondhand.
Neither carrier supports facing out
Both the LennyUpGrade and PRO are front-facing-in and back carry only. If you're looking for a facing-out option, see the full LennyLamb lineup.
